We’ve moved on a little since pouring the concrete and have proceeded with taking the brickwork up to damp and beginning to lay the drainage. This Widnes building extension job is going very well so far and we are happy with the progress. Note that we have not shown you putting in the footing courses in case you were wondering. This was simply a case of using large trench block, solid concrete block and also engineering brick to take us to out damp levels.
Also note that the cavity before ground level will have been filled with a weak concrete mix.
So we are now putting the drainage in which is essentially all new plastic drainage with 110mm pipework, associated gully’s, rest bends and also Marley 450mm inspection chambers. Due to the direction change in the layout we have had to put 2 no. inspection chambers in to ensure that waste can easily be rodded if need be. Gully’s will also be roddable and soil pipes entering rest bends will also have an access point inserted to ensure rodding can take place.
We are only laying the drainage out at this point so some tweaking will be required to ensure we have the correct falls ETC. On completion and on being passed by the BCO, all drainage will be laid on pea gravel and also covered in the same.
Below we can see a 5KC worker doing some minor excavation and we also show a shot of the drain run.
