As you can see the build is progressing well now and here we are taking the brick / block work up higher, building on top of the steel beams we inserted earlier on which will carry some of the weight. Note that we are building with a 100mm cavity which is filled with insulation.

We are going to frame the lean to extension roof out with 7 x 2 joists, all bird mouthed over a 4 x 3 wall plate.

The rear extension will have bi-fold doors fitted in the already created opening. Note the white cavity closers that have been inserted. The same cavity closers will be applied to all cavities at window / door openings.

To the side of the new extension we have just put the first floor joists in. Also note the steel bridging the opening to assist with carrying the floor load. Also note how the joists are tied down with heavy duty twisted restraint straps.
